Jar
Spring 2001 marked the beginning of Jar, with an awesome new line up and fantastic set. Jar set out to impress music lovers everywhere and began by getting the name noticed around and about the local area. With an interest into the band, people asked to hear the music, so Aaron Blades played a handful of acoustic performances to give a taste of the bands direction.

By summer 2001 Jar had become quite a well-established band in the Waterlooville area. Aaron Blades (Lead Guitarist/Vocalist) and Sara Byng (Bass) had been working hard to produce new songs and had not only written the epic, "Lonely Song" but also the emotional and sincere, "When the Echoes Stop". Jar was long in practicing these songs before they were performed to a sample audience for feedback. With an improved set Jar again pressed their name upon the public.

Jar had a break late summer putting aside music for a while and spending sometime together; however this break was interrupted by Aaron's discovery of "Gamblers Blues", an old folk song by the limelighters. This was soon re-arranged and brought into the set.

Emergenza, the European and Canadian music competition, was then brought to the attention of Jar. With confidence Jar entered and continued to rehearse as usual. After a meeting about Emergenza, the guys decided to bring in two new songs. One, a strong, starting song, "Kick" and another, a song about being caught having an affair, "Cliche". With a finished set Jar were now ready to begin work in preparation for the competition.

Ticket sales were not looking as expected and the band began to lose confidence in itself, until Nathan Tidbury (Drummer/Percussion) designed and created a website for the band advertising the gig. The band had strong feedback supporting the band from the site and is now awaiting the first heat of the competition at the Horseshoe, Southsea, March 22nd 2002.
